FISHING

A fishing trip is being planned for Saturday, October 6th. Wally Nunn is trying to arrange for a larger boat with a lower cost per person so that more people will want to go. That could range from $45 to $60 each. The small charter boats cost about $79 each for six people for five hours. Everyone wishing to go deep-sea fishing should check that option on the registration form. When the total number of people desiring to go fishing is determined, an attempt will be made to charter a fishing boat to accommodate that number of people. Either Wally Nunn or Bernie Cobb will then contact you personally and inform you of the estimated cost per person. Payment must be made on arrival at the dock.

GOLFING

This year there will also be a golf outing--a mini-tournament--which is being organized by none other than former 14th CAB commander, COL (Ret) "Black Sam" Kalagian. Sam says the event will be held at Hurlburt Field AFB beginning at 10:00 a.m, October 6th. It will be a 2-man scramble format. Teams will consist of one high and one low handicap golfer.

The cost for golfing is $22 per person. That includes green fee and cart. Also, there is a $5.00 entry fee for prize money. There will be room for 16 players (four 4-somes). Spikeless golf shoes or tennis shoes are prescribed. Bring your clubs or rent clubs at the golf course. Sam will provide registered golfers with more details at the hotel Friday evening. Payment must be made at the golf course pro shop before teeing off..

MUSEUM TOUR

An auto trip to the Eglin AFB Air Force Armament Museum is also on the agenda for Saturday. Those wishing to go can "car pool" the short distance from the hotel to Eglin AFB. Bob Jones has agreed to organize that group and determine "the rules of engagement." "Old Baldy" will get you there, help you see some exciting history, and get you back safely.

COMMEMORATIVE 174th LICENSE PLATES

At last year's reunion, Dick Overhamm got a show of hands from those having an interest in purchasing a set of specially-designed 174th AHC ASSN auto license plates and 174th custom-made holder. Because of the interest shown, Dick has gotten a great design which is displayed (in black & white only, unfortunately) below. With the color added, this will be a keepsake that you will cherish for a lifetime. You can order your plate(s) and holder(s) on the registration form. You won't be sorry you did. Because of the vendor's deadline pressures, please order as early as possible and before the September 15th registration deadline if you want license plates. Once we reach the published deadline, the number of people who have ordered the license plates and holders will determine whether or not we can proceed to have them made.

The price is $15 per set for the plate and holder, payable with your advanced registration. The cost is based on a minimum order of 100 sets. And, you know the drill -- first come, first served. If you can't come to the reunion but wish to mail-order a set(s), please add $4.00 for shipping and handling; $6.00 for two or more sets.

Again, please order as early as possible and before the September 15th registration deadline.
